The market volume of sustainable debt in Argentina It was located at the end of last year at 993.3 million dollars, with a growth of 111% compared to the end of 2021, according to an official report released this Monday.
“The sustainable debt market is experiencing more than significant growth and has the capacity to expand”highlighted the National Securities Commission of Argentina (CNV, market regulator) in a report that includes the evolution of this market since its birth in 2019.
The accumulated issued amount of sustainable debt in the Argentine market was at the end of 2022 of 993.3 million dollars, “which means double the value at the end of the previous year and 5 times the value at the end of 2020”, highlighted regulator.
The total volume of the sustainable debt market in Argentina consists of 47 issuances of financial instruments classified as social, green and sustainable, completed from 2019 to the end of 2022.
Most of these issues are listed in the Panel of Social, Green and Sustainable Bonds (SVS bond panel) and in the Sustainability Linked Bond Panel (VS bond panel), launched by Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (BYMA) in July 2019 and February 2022, respectively.
He 63.5% of the financing granted by the market to this type of issuance was monopolized by the so-called green bonds, whose funds must be applied to projects that generate a positive environmental impact.
