The tension in Israel and Palestine It has increased in recent days, after the Israeli armed forces have stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque, leaving several injured and detained, and several rockets have been launched from Gaza and southern Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have accused this Thursday the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), with a presence in the Gaza Strip, of being behind the launch of 34 rockets from southern Lebanon.

“We know for sure that it was Palestinian fire, either from Hamas or from Islamic Jihad,” said Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hecht, spokesman for the Israeli army. The spokesman has ruled out that the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah was the author of the projectile firing, although he has qualified that surely “he was aware because they control everything that happens in southern Lebanon.”

This umpteenth episode of hostilities occurs after Israel to bomb Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire by Palestinians, all this amid tensions over disputes around the Al Aqsa Mosque, located on the Mosque Esplanade.

Israel Police has broken into the Jerusalem mosque for two consecutive nightsand they have launched rubber bullets, grenades and tear gas to disperse the Muslim faithful on a particularly symbolic night in which Pesaj begins, the Jewish Passover, and in the middle of the month of Ramadan.

The Lebanese government has called on the international community to “put pressure” on Israel to avoid a major escalation. “Lebanon expresses its interest in calm and stability in the south of the country, and calls on the international community to pressure Israel to stop the escalation,” the Foreign Ministry said.
