Bob Lee, a technology entrepreneur who founded the Cash App mobile payment service application, was stabbed to death at age 43 early Tuesday morning near downtown San Francisco (California), his father announced Wednesday on social media.
Lee, was the director of product at MobileCoin, a San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup, and worked at Google and Square.
He also invested in several technology companies, including SpaceX, Clubhouse and Figma, according to his LinkedIn profile.
MobileCoin released a statement saying Lee had died, but did not say how.
“Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee, passed away yesterday at the age of 43, survived by a loving family and a collection of close friends and associates,” the company statement said.
Police responded early Tuesday morning to reports of a stabbing and the victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
No arrests have been made in the case and the San Francisco police have not released any details about the possible suspects.
