The founder and owner of wagner group —Russian paramilitary organization—, Yevgeni Prigozhin, has announced that his mercenary network controls the center of the Ukrainian city of bakhmutin the east of the country.
Prigozhin has explained, through the Telegram account, that Russian soldiers have taken the center of the city at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2.
“We raised the Russian flag with the inscription ‘Good memory for Vladlen Tatarski’ – military blogger killed after an attack in Saint Petersburg – and the flag of the Wagner Group in the Bakhmut city administration,” he said.
For its part, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces They have acknowledged that Russian forces “attempt to seize full control” of Bakhmut, an unusual reference in official kyiv notes.

The Ukrainian president himself, Volodimir Zelensky admitted last night that the situation in this eastern city was “particularly tense.”
Bakhmut has been, for months, the segment of the entire Ukrainian front where the tougher fights. Russia wants to take the city to continue its advance from the east, while Ukraine resists to stop this offensive and wear down the enemy in this battle.
