The Andrews Air Force Base, on the outskirts of Washington and which is usually used by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, for his official trips, was closed this Thursday for the presence of an individual armed with a semi-automatic rifle in its vicinity.

The base itself reported on its Facebook page that the armed person would be near the homes of the military installation and asked people to stay away from the place. The note describes that individual as a white person who would carry an AR-15 style rifle “no orange tip”, which would mean that it is a real weapon.

Andrews Air Force Base, located in Prince George’s County, in the state of Maryland, 32 kilometers from the White House, is where it takes off and where Air Force One lands the presidential plane used by Biden.

The president had no scheduled trip Neither this Thursday nor Friday, although tomorrow he plans to move to Mississippi. The last time Biden was at the base was on Tuesday to travel to North Carolina.
