HALO Trust, a demining company with multiple contracts with the US government, will use “Spot”, a robot dog manufactured by technology company Boston Dynamics, to eliminate mortar shells and ammunition from bunch in areas formerly controlled by Russia near Kyivsaid Chris Whatley, the group’s chief executive.
In a test session last year, “Spot” worked effectively on these tasks, and according to the trade magazine, Whatley hopes that translates to working with cluster munitions that Russia has indiscriminately used in Ukraine and has spread throughout the country.
By unfolding your robotic arm“Spot” could help drag unexploded ordnance to wells containing other munitions, which would allow them to be safely detonated away from civilians in batches of up to 50 to 100 projectiles, ensures the publication. This would also allow reduce the danger to which the human teams of the HALO company that have been deployed in Ukrainian cities such as Bucha either Brovarywhich were temporarily occupied by the Russians after invade Ukraine.
