The South American e-commerce giant Free marketbased in Argentina, reported Thursday that its net profit recovered in the fourth quarter from the loss recorded in the same period a year earlier, to $164.7 million.
Total revenues for MercadoLibre, with a presence in 18 countries, including Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, increased 40.9% to about $3 billion in the period, while in constant currency they grew 56.5%, the company said in its results report.
The firm indicated that its consolidated net income for 2022 reached 481.9 million dollars, with a strong increase in the year-on-year comparison, thanks to a greater market share and a solid operating performance.
Total billing last year reached 10.5 billion dollars, which implied an increase of 49% compared to 2021, the company reported.
