These are the topics that will monopolize the top headlines this Monday, February 20:
– EITB in Ukraine: One year after the start of the war in Ukraine, EITB will offer unprecedented information coverage, on the ground and collecting first-hand information. This February 24 will be one year since the start of the invasion in Ukraine, and all the EITB media are pouring out reports, live connections and special programs in which the situation in Ukraine will be addressed a year later.
– Bank tax: Today ends the period initially set by the Government of Spain to pay extraordinary taxes on banks and energy companies. Most of the companies affected by the new tax have decided to speed up the deadlines and will settle, beyond the general disagreement, this Monday 50% of the tax. The other 50% will have to be paid in September.
– 20 years after the closure of Euskaldunon Egunkaria: On February 20, 2003, the judge of the National Court Juan del Olmo ordered the closure of the only newspaper then published in Basque and the arrest of 10 people, accused of collaborating with ETA. We review the chronology of these two decades.
