The Unique Population Registry Code (curp) is an instrument used to register all persons residing in Mexiconational and foreign, as well as Mexicans living in other countries.
According to the Official Gazette of the Federation, the CURP is generated from the basic data (name, surname, sex, date and place of birth) with which a person is identified in their supporting documents.
In this sense, it is essential to handle tax returns, business and school records, affiliation to health services, among others. The Ministry of the Interior, through the National Population Registry (renapo) is the agency in charge of processing the CURP.
