The donations to the Emergency Committee are not the only way help to those affected by the earthquake registered in Turkey and Syria this Monday. The Embassy of Turkey in Spain has placed in Madrid several collection points of donations and basic materials, such as food and warm clothing, to send them to the affected country. There, thousands of family spend the days on the street for fear of earthquake aftershocks that have left nearly 400,000 people homeless.
The NGO have joined this call. From the Red Crescent – Those who have already begun to distribute basic necessities among the victims in one of the most affected areas, kahramanmaras– have insisted that more help is needed to be able to reach “the greatest number of victims possible and help them”.
For her part, the Religious Foundation of Turkeyhas ensured that the population of the areas affected by the earthquake find it difficult to get ahead, since many houses have been destroyed and those that are still standing cannot be entered through the danger of aftershocks. “They are trying to survive on the streets with the help that is sent to the area,” he stressed.
