Peruvian quinoa shone in the Asian giant. In just a second, 2,000 packages were sold during the “Hi, Go” online sales live event, co-organized by CGTN and CMG Mobile, part of the China Media Group (CMG).
A total of 37 global products were well received by Chinese consumers, reaching sales of 66.71 million RMB (10.41 million US dollars).
Among these products, 2,000 packages of the grain of the incas in a second, which highlights the appreciation of Chinese consumers towards the quality of our products, as well as the high purchasing power of the Chinese market.
Peru is the world’s leading exporter and producer of quinoa, a superfood that has a protein that brings together the 10 essential amino acids for the functioning of the human body, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).
Diplomats from Peru, Chile, Spain and other countries participated in the live room, in which they presented products from Latin America, Europe and Africa to Chinese consumers.
Anniversary
The Peruvian ambassador to China, Luis Quesada, was the first to participate in the live show, and recalled that this year both countries celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
On the occasion of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), Peru has organized a virtual pavilion of the Andean country.
The Peruvian ambassador hopes that, in addition to the tricolor quinoa that was sold during the live show, a greater quantity of Peruvian products will be able to access the Chinese market and reach the local consumer’s table.
When celebrating its fourth edition, the exhibition and sale models online they are implanted in the CIIE, expanding, in this way, the space-time dimension of the exhibition and creating a permanent international exhibition.
