Ukraine sent letters to companies that support the International Olympic Committee urging them to keep Russian athletes out of the Olympic Games of Paris, said on Sunday the president Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelenskiy is leading a campaign to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the games under a neutral flag. Zelenskiy has said his presence would normalize Russia’s invasion of his country and make “terror” acceptable.
“These are large international companies that clearly have an interest in ensuring that their reputations and support are not used for war propaganda,” the president said, Reuters reported.

The IOC said in late January that the Olympic Council of Asia had offered Russian and Belarusian athletes the chance to compete in Asia, prompting protests from kyiv, which called for Russian athletes to be banned over Russia’s invasion.
The committee later said it supported the sanctions imposed against Russia, who invaded Ukraine almost a year ago, and Belarus, whose authorities provided support for the invasion.
