Mexican authorities announced that they found the body of Ecuadorian citizen Marco Bonilla, 24, who had disappeared while trying to cross the Rio Grande on the border between Mexico and the United States.
Bonilla was in the company of her partner and her five-year-old son and whose story was revealed last Thursday after being rescued by the Beta Group in the middle of the tributary and with signs of hypothermia.
In statements collected by Telemundo, the 5-year-old boy, Jonathan, recounted that his “daddy drowned and died.” He was on his father’s shoulders and they tried to cross the river, but in the middle of the flow they realized how deep it was.
