National Transit Agency will renew driver’s licenses in three cities in Spain

A brigade of the National Transit Agency (ANT) of Ecuador will visit Spain between February 13 and March 2, 2023 to offer the driver’s license renewal service, whether due to expiration, theft or loss, and provide information on other ANT procedures to Ecuadorians residing in Spain.

The Consulate General of Ecuador in Madrid will serve applicants from February 13 to 16. Subsequently, the Consulate of Ecuador in Murcia will carry out the process from February 19 to 23, while the Consulate of Ecuador in Barcelona will receive Ecuadorians who wish to revoke their license from February 26 to 28 and from March 1 to 2. The office hours at the three locations will be from 08:30 a.m. to 06:30 p.m..

Requirements

  • Printed turn.
  • Current original of the Ecuadorian identity card or passport.
  • Expired driver’s license, or that is within 90 days prior to its expiration. In case of loss or theft, a complaint must be filed with the competent authority.
  • It will not be possible to renew the license or obtain a duplicate if there are pending fines.
  • Original of the psychotechnical exam granted by a Driver Recognition Center authorized by the General Directorate of Traffic of Spain (DGT).
  • At the Consulate you must pass a theoretical exam. You can practice on the simulator.

The costs for type A and B license renewal is 74.80 euros; professionals C, D, E and G have a cost of 121 euros. Payment for the service will be made in cash, in euros, at the time of the appointment. (YO)
