Denisova cites the mayor of Kherson, Igor Kolyjaev, according to whom the city “will run out of medicines in two weeks, there are no more solutions for intravenous linesthe medication for cardiovascular diseases is insufficient and there is a lack of oxygen”.

“In all districts of the Kherson region, without exception, there is a significant need for medicines,” he warned.

He added that there are about 500,000 people left out of the one million inhabitants that the region had before the war.

He noted that “in the first days of the occupation of the southern region, the occupiers looted a large number of food chains and pharmacies” and Ukrainian products were exported to Crimea and Russia.

He claimed that as “humanitarian aid”the Russians distribute five-year-old products and expired medicines and demand, in exchange, personal data, lists of pensioners, social workers and people who live in a certain community.

Denisova appealed to the UN commission for the investigation of human rights violations during the Russian military invasion of Ukraine “to take into account these facts of violation of human rights in Ukraine.”

The Ukrinform agency recalls that Russian troops seized the Kherson city hall building on April 25 and that the city’s mayor declared that he refused to cooperate with the “new administration” appointed by the Russians. (I)
