Zelensky assures that Kharkov is once again under Ukrainian control while Russian troops continue without advancing

The war in Ukraine continues after 80 days since the beginning of the Russian invasion, although the conflict scenario presents a very different situation from that projected by the Kremlin. A few hours ago, the Ukrainian troops have destroyed a bridge, sinking it completely under water, to prevent the advance of Putin’s soldiers towards the south of Donbas. A drone view also shows dozens of neutralized Russian armored vehicles, in some images that can be seen in the video that accompanies these lines.

According to Ukraine, after this ambush, the enemy soldiers ran to disperse. And it is that the losses among Putin’s troops do not stop growing. Indeed, Russian ambitions in eastern Ukraine are shrinking. There are already many offensives that have been failing month after month, which has transformed Russia’s plans in the Ukrainian territory: it has gone from wanting to cover the maximum possible territory to aspiring to much lower levels.

At the same time, it is beginning to be noted that troops and weapons resources are scarce; at least, in the ranks of the Kremlin. As seen in the video, there are reservist soldiers of the Russian forces in Donbas who carry on their shoulders rifles designed in the 19th century, a model used in the Spanish Civil War. Furthermore, Russia is forcibly recruiting Ukrainian men in areas they control, giving them outdated equipment and using them as cannon fodder.

Russia is also losing territory and weapons in the Kharkov region. Ukraine is pushing them north and gaining ground towards the border. “Our men have taken this town and we continue to push the troops towards Russia,” said Topol, a Ukrainian soldier, in one of the battlefields. But Ukraine is even preventing the Russian withdrawal to its own country. Ukrainian intelligence estimates that they will soon be able to recover Donbas and Crimea .

The turning point will be in the second half of August. Most active combat actions will be over by the end of the year,” said Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Military Intelligence. In this regard, the country’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, celebrated the turn of the tables in the war : “We have already recovered 1,015 settlements, including six in the last 24 hours.” Meanwhile, he assures that talks continue to evacuate doctors and wounded combatants from the Azovstal steel mill.
