Pregnancy of Princess Eugenie of England moves the line of succession to the British throne

The long line of succession to reach the throne of Great Britain is extended again, this time with the second pregnancy of Princess Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew.

She is eleventh in the line of succession, below her older sister Beatrice; her father Andrés hers and Beatrice’s daughter, who occupy the eighth, ninth and tenth place respectively.

Eugenia shared the news on Instagram, with an emotional photo where her first son, August, hugs and kisses her belly, which already shows signs of pregnancy. “We are very excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” wrote the princess, who married her husband Jack de ella in 2018.

Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, commented on the publication with the phrase “Granny heaven” (grandmother in heaven) demonstrating her happiness for her daughter’s pregnancy.

Eugenia’s soon-to-be two-year-old son August is twelfth in the line of succession, with his younger brother or sister becoming thirteenth. Prince Edward, the youngest son of the late Queen Elizabeth, was moved to fourteenth place.

With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her eldest son Charles became King of England and Prince William, his son with Princess Diana, is first in line to succeed.

William’s children, starting with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are the next heirs to the throne. In fifth place is Prince Harry, William’s brother, and in sixth and seventh place his sons Archie and Lilibet. (AND)
