The town of General Roca, in Río Negro, Argentina, is dismayed after the news of the death of a 13-year-old teenager and the critical condition of another 17-year-old was released, for practicing a viral TikTok challenge called “Blackout Challenge”.
Both young people suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after practicing the aforementioned challenge that, in addition, they broadcast live through the video platform, according to police sources in the South American country.

Alert in Argentine community for TikTok challenge “Blackout Challenge”
The two young men were found on the afternoon of Sunday, January 15, in a house in the town of Río Negro. The youngest no longer had vital signs and his friend was unconscious, TN wrote.
Both young people were alone in the house and took advantage of the absence of an adult to carry out the viral challenge together.
At that moment, personnel from Siarme, a free emergency service in the province, revived the young man who remained unconscious and then transferred him to the Pediatric area of the Francisco López Lima hospital.
There was nothing to do with the eldest and they transferred him to a morgue for the law autopsy, which resulted in mechanical asphyxiation by hanging.
There is a lot of secrecy around the case, because it involves two minors and it is only known that the young man who survived is in a serious but stable state of health, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The main suspicion of the investigators points to the “blackout challenge”, the same challenge that ended the life of Milagros, a 12-year-old girl from Santa Fe, also in Argentina, days ago.
The dangerous viral challenge consists of holding your breath until you lose consciousness, while all this is broadcast live on TikTok, according to Miguel Ledesma, head of the service, in statements to GNRnoticias. (YO)
