For his part, the mayor, David Lisnard, has assured that none of the people involved have died and that the circumstances of what happened are being clarified. Sources of the Ministry of the Interior quoted by the French media have affirmed that it could be a terrorist action.
According to police sources cited by the France Info station, the events occurred around 06:30 local time in the vicinity of the city’s central police station when a man approached a patrol car, opened the door and attacked with a knife to one of the agents inside.
He then went to open another door but before he could commit a new assault he received the shots of another agent, who thus managed to neutralize him.
