In El Salvador they capture one of those identified as the mastermind of the crime of prosecutor Marcelo Pecci

The Salvadoran authorities announced the capture of a Colombian citizen who would be implicated in the murder of the Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pecci, in May 2022 in Colombia.

The death of the anti-mafia prosecutor occurred while he was on his honeymoon with his wife on the island of Barú, two men arrived there by sea and approached Pecci and shot him twice.

“We received information from Interpol Colombia about the possibility that one of those involved in this cowardly murder, which shocked all of South America, was on home soil. Inquiries were made and in effect we had the entry of this citizen” in El Salvador, assured the Minister of Justice and Security, Gustavo Villatoro.

The detainee was identified as Margaret Chacón Zúñiga, 42, who would be the sentimental partner of Andrés Felipe Pérez Hoyos, captured last weekend and who together with his brother Ramón Emilio revealed that they contributed to the crime against Pecci.

In the same way, they apologized to the prosecutor’s wife for the murder.

The Salvadoran authorities indicated that they also captured the national Wilber Huezo, 47, who hid her in the country.

Villatoro explained that the detainee had entered the country on May 26, 2022 and since then “she has been making different trips to different countries in Latin America, except Colombia.” (YO)
