Ukraine prepares for a new offensive in Donbas
Ukraine has marked the months of February and March in red because it fears a major Russian offensive to finally take Donbas, where Russian troops are advancing in northern Bakhmut and have conquered the Sil railway station, according to the Wagner mercenary group. .
“Russia is preparing a new attempt to take the initiative in the war,” warned the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, in his daily address to the population, in which he added that the situation on the fronts requires “new solutions” in defense matter.
In particular, Zelensky has advocated for the acceleration of decision-making by Kyiv’s allies, referring to discussions about the supply of heavy weapons that it demands from the West.
The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, has warned, in turn, that Russia is preparing to give a “push” to its offensive ahead of the anniversary of the war on February 24.
