A Saudi real estate magnate has paid US$2.6 million to buy a ticket for the friendly match that the psg of Lionel Messi will play on Thursday in Riyadh against a selection of the best footballers playing in that country, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
To promote the match, the organization held an auction for charity with a VIP ticket for the match, which includes a photo session with the players and access to the changing rooms, as the main claim.
The auction, which began with one million Saudi riyals ($266,000; €245,000), closed with a bid of 10 million Saudi riyals ($2.6 million; €2.4 million) by Mushref al- Ghamdi, a real estate magnate.
It will be Cristiano Ronaldo’s first game in Saudi Arabia since he signed for Al-Nassr in December.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, 37, who has committed to the Saudi team for two and a half years, will earn 200 million euros for that contract, and a similar amount for later becoming ambassador of the Saudi bid for the organization of the 2030 World Cup.
The friendly match will pit PSG against a selection of players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, including, in addition to Ronaldo, Salem Al-Dawsari, scorer of Saudi Arabia’s winning goal against Argentina at the last World Cup. from Qatar.
