the kremlin denied on Monday that Russian forces attacked a residential building in Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, where a shelling raid on Saturday caused at least 36 deaths.
“The Russian Armed Forces they do not bombard residential buildings or civil infrastructures. They are bombing military targets,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told reporters, mentioning the possibility that a Ukrainian air defense missile may have landed on the building.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, at least 36 people, including two minors, they died. This Monday there were still 35 missing after the attack that left a residential building in Dnipro destroyed.
Since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine, in February 2022, many buildings for civilian use have been hit by shelling. Some cities like Mariupol in the southeast were partially razed.
Faced with accusations from various countries that Russia committed abuses, Moscow routinely denies that it targets civilian buildings in Ukraine. (YO)
