The considered boss of bosses of Cosa Nostra, Matteo Messina Denarohas been arrested today by the Carabinieri in Palermo, according to Italian media reports, after 30 years on the run from justice.
The arrest occurred in a private health clinic in Palermo, the Sicilian capital, where he went to receive medical treatment.
Born in Castelvetrano (Sicily), Messina Denaro has today 60 years. She disappeared in 1993 and since then her whereabouts have been unknown. There were only a few photographs of him from 30 years ago and the last robot portrait included new details entrusted to the Police by some of the detainees around him.
Despite being the most wanted man in italythis did not prevent him from traveling to Barcelona (Spain) to undergo eye surgery, as has been shown in various investigations.
The capture of the gangster, with several life sentences for the Cosa Nostra attacks and numerous homicidesarrives, the media have added, after the intensification of the investigations carried out by the prosecutor of Palermo Maurizio de Lucia.
