Documents from the days of Barack Obama’s presidency were found at Joe Biden’s private residence in Wilmington, Delaware. This was announced by the White House, after the current president’s lawyers inspected it for having found other confidential documents in one of his offices.

According to the statement, “a small number of additional documents dating to the Obama-Biden administration and classified as confidential” were found in the garage of Biden’s home.
The president declared at a press conference that he fully cooperates with justice, but this revelation puts the White House in conflict, since the US authorities continue to investigate his predecessor, Donald Trump, for the same reason.

Federal police searched the private club in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, where the billionaire has lived since leaving the White House, in August. The FBI seized thousands of documents, many of them classified as secret.
“Congress must investigate this case,” Republican leader Kevin McCarthy told the press, denouncing “a new false step by the Biden administration.”
Under a 1978 law, US presidents and vice presidents must ensure ongoing tenure by sending their emails, letters and other working documents to the National Archives. (YO)
