Long-range Western missiles would help Ukraine win the war against Russia

Ukrainian forces could win the war against Russia, which began last February when Vladimir Putin’s army invaded Ukrainian territory with long-range missiles.

According to Mikhailo Podoliak, adviser to the presidency, Ukraine has a good prognosis if Western countries multiply the delivery of this type of weapons.

“Only missiles with a range of more than 100 km will allow us to significantly speed up the vacating of the territories,” Podoliak said in an interview with AFP.

Ukraine warns it will continue to shoot down Russian drones and missiles

If kyiv gets these weapons, it will not be to attack Russian territory. “We will not attack Russia. We are waging an exclusively defensive war,” Podoliak said.

Due to the long-range characteristic of these missiles, Ukraine could hit Russian weapons depots that are placed far from the front line. The weapons that the Ukrainian forces currently have do not allow reaching the depots.

The Ukrainians already use the American HIMARS systems (80 km range) and have just received their French equivalent, the LRU missile launchers, 70 km range. But they expect to receive the American ATACMS missiles, which reach 300 km. (YO)
