Venezuela: Maduro assures that 2022 was a year of “achieved goals” for his government

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured this Thursday, a few hours after rendering an account before the Legislature on his management last year, that 2022 was a period of goals achieved for his Government, in which with “unmatched effort” positive results.

The president will appear this afternoon, at 20:00 GMT, before Parliament, with an overwhelming pro-government majority, to deliver the call “message to the nation”, in compliance with the Venezuelan Constitution that obliges him to present this balance before the deputies, no later than January 15 of each year.

As usual, Maduro is expected to explain political, economic, social and administrative aspects of his administration, and address issues recently highlighted by Chavismo representatives such as negotiations with the opposition, the recovery of diplomatic channels with various governments and new investments for the oil country

Already on December 31, during his New Year’s Eve message, the president announced that a “national renaissance” had begun in 2022, being the first year of economic growth after seven in decline, and asserted that in 2023 he will begin a “cyclerecovery.

He highlighted some achievements of his management during 2022 and noted that “Beyond the 927 criminal sanctions imposed by the United States and supported by extremist sectors, the people of Venezuela reinvented themselves to achieve the necessary balances and the reactivation of the productive apparatus.”.
