The police forces of the center of Europe are in check before a serious threat: the ‘Mocro Mafia’. An organization that wants to control cocaine trafficking in various European countries, and cares little or nothing how to do it. In reality, it is not a single organization, but a a group of drug gangs who have something in common: being descendants of Morocco. The word ‘mocro’ refers precisely to the North African origin of the members of these groups.

A ‘different’ mob. These groups have established their nerve center in the Netherlands. There they have come to decapitate a member of a rival gang to mark the territory.
- They have threatened the former Minister of Justice, Grapperhaus, currently protected by the Royal and Diplomatic Security Service of the Dutch country and living in maximum security conditions because his life is in danger.
- Grapperhaus would have been threatened by Bolle Jos, one of the most wanted gangsters in the country. He is one of the leaders of the ‘Mocro Mafia’ that controls the powerful port of Rotterdam. His tentacles also reach Belgium.
Royalty under threat. These gangs have also made the heir to the throne, Princess Amalia of Orange, live practically secluded in the Royal Palaceabsolutely protected and, finally, Prime Minister Mark Rutte has also been forced to strengthen your security because of the continuous threats he was receiving from organized crime.
- The criminal groups that make up the ‘Mocro Mafia’ have been at war with each other since 2012. In fact, then a shipment of cocaine disappeared from the port of Antwerp.
- To achieve their goals they have come to threaten businessmen, kill journalists and extort lawyers and politicians. Without going any further, this war has already claimed the lives of dozens of people; like that of the journalist Peter de Vries, assassinated in June 2021 in broad daylight. One of those involved was arrested in Barcelona.
Why is the ‘Mocro Mafia’ so dangerous? As we have said, in the Netherlands they have threatened the former Minister of Justice, Grapperhaus; Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Princess Amalia, heir to the throne. But it is not the only territory in which these gangs have operated.
- In Sweden, security problems have become dangerously worse. In the last ten years, deaths by firearms in the Scandinavian country have tripled.
- In Spain they have been detected in the province of Barcelona, in Paterna (Valencia) and in Marbella (Málaga), where they have committed robberies and crimes also in broad daylight.
How does it affect me? So, if you live in the province of Valencia or Barcelona you should know that they have already performed there. They robbed in 2020 and 2021 at various ATMs in Martorell and Cerdanyola (Barcelona) and Paterna (Valencia). They were linked by the ‘modus operandi’ used in both events: they used explosives (acetylene) and a gas alloy.
- What at first gave the impression of being several robberies with force, the investigations ended up leading the Police to investigate a crime against money laundering.
- In said operation, they related this Spanish band to the European one due to their continuous trips to the Netherlands. In one of them, and after a joint operation with the Dutch security forces, seven people were arrested. In the same operation, two million euros and Swiss francs were seized in cash, as well as weapons, ammunition, high-end watches and drugs.
Drugs and underwater drones in Marbella. The presence of these groups in Spain comes from behind. In 2018 they had already settled in the province of Malaga and specifically in Marbella.
- There they tried to control the entry of drugs to the peninsula to later introduce it into the center of Europe. In fact, they were detected introducing cocaine thanks to some underwater drones to the Costa del Sol.
- In December 2018, the Swedish and Spanish police arrested two alleged hitmen accused of killing two drug traffickers. Mossos d’Esquadra and National Police have managed to dismantle the Spanish section for robberies and money laundering.
