“What happened was planned. The people in the streets and in front of the barracks had no agenda or demands,” Lula said during the emergency meeting with the governors and the presidents of the Legislative and Judicial branches.

The radical Bolsonaristas had been encamped for two months in front of the barracks in various cities calling for a military intervention with a coup against Lula, who on October 30 defeated Bolsonaro in the second round of elections.

“The coup was the only thing that was heard” in the camps, dismantled on Monday by the security organizations after a decision by the Supreme Court, Lula said.

According to the president, the new government, which took office on January 1, had “ten ministers for negotiation” with the protesters.

At the meeting, the governor of Sao Paulo and former Bolsonaro minister, Tarcisio de Freitashas called for “pacification” so that “Brazilian democracy becomes even stronger” with “gestures of all powers” and the governors.
