The Ukrainian National Police has opened to date a total of 52,613 criminal proceedings to investigate the crimes attributed to the Russian forces and “their accomplices” in Ukraine since the invasion began on February 24.
“Since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, investigators of the National Police have launched 52,613 investigations into crimes committed by service members of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their accomplices in Ukraine,” he said. Tuesday the police report, released by the local news agency Ukrinform.
The document details that most of the cases, a total of 41,039, have been opened under article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, related to the violation of “the laws and customs of war”.
Another 9,162 are based on article 110, which deals with crimes such as encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
The Police keep open 2,224 summaries related to the activities of individuals who have collaborated with the enemyin addition to hundreds of others for alleged crimes of high treason and sabotage.
In addition, police officers have opened 53 criminal proceedings for alleged crimes of sexual violence committed by the Russian military. (YO)
