Putin says he will sign Russian response to oil cap ‘on Monday or Tuesday’

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putinsaid this Thursday sign “Monday or Tuesday” next week the decree on the country’s response to the ceiling of 60 dollars per barrel imposed by the European Union (EU), the G7 and Australia on Russian crude.

“I think I will do it on Monday or Tuesday”, said the head of the Kremlin in a press appearance in Moscow.

Putin assured that the Russian budget will not be harmed by the measure.

“We don’t lose anything because of that top”, said Putin, who believes that this measure can have disastrous consequences and cause a drastic rise in crude oil prices.

Previously, the Russian leader had warned that the country may reduce oil production as one of the response measures to the cap of 60 dollars a barrel for its crude.

This Thursday, the Kremlin affirmed that they are agreeing on some “nuances” of the Russian response to the oil cap imposed by the West and that the presidential decree would come out as soon as these were clarified.

Putin also alluded today to the investigation of the explosions that occurred in the Nord Stream gas pipelines and regretted that at this point what he considers a “attempt”.
