“The agencies have undertaken a comprehensive effort to review the full set of nearly 16,000 records that had previously been published in redacted form. They determined that more than 70% (of them) can now be published in their entirety,” the White House explained. it’s a statement.

It has also added that in most registries there is no legitimate need to protect the files. However, it may be the case when the documents may cause “harm” to US military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement or US foreign relations, the US president stressed.

The National Archives will continue to review the documents until May 1, 2023, so any information withheld that the agencies do not “recommend for continued deferral” will be released by June 30, 2023.
