The Russians shelled unoccupied Kherson 57 times in the last 24 hours

the russian army has bombarded the Kherson regionpartially recovered by Ukraine, a total of 57 times in the last 24 hoursin attacks in which one person was injured, Yaroslav Yanushevych, head of the region’s Military Administration, reported Monday.

As confirmed by the military officer in his Telegram account, “The Russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson region 57 times.”

“Peaceful settlements in the region were attacked with MLRS (Self-Propelled Multiple Launcher Systems), artillery and mortar fire… one person was injured”, added the report of the military high command.

Yanushevych specified that the enemy continues to attack residential neighborhoods in Khersoncapital of the homonymous region, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Donets River, and specified that the bombardments focused on infrastructure facilities, private buildings and apartments.

On December 10, the Ukrainian region suffered a similar shelling by the Russian army with a total of 45 attacks in which two people died and five others were injured.

Kherson is one of the four Ukrainian regions that Russia annexed without fully controlling it, along with neighboring Zaporizhia and Donestk and Lungansk in the east.

The Russian army partially withdrew from Kherson last November and took its troops to the other side of the Donets River, from where it carried out continuous bombardments on the positions recaptured by the Ukrainians. (YO)
