In addition, they have also searched the headquarters of the McKinsey consultancy, which worked on his 2017 presidential campaign, to try to determine if Renaissance had illegal financing.

The Gendarmerie has searched the headquarters of Renacimiento, the party of Emmanuel Macronand the consultant McKinseywithin the process that investigates a possible illegal financing of the electoral campaign of 2017.
They are enrolled in two different investigations formally launched in October. Investigators are trying to find out if Macron’s campaign in the 2017 presidential elections, in which he was elected president for the first time, had illegal financing through the multinational.
“It is normal for the Justice to investigate freely and independently to shed all the light on this issue,” said Renacimiento, who has made himself “available” to the investigators.
The gendarmes have taken documents and computer supports, according to the newspaper Le Parisien.
During Macron’s first term, McKinsey benefited from numerous public contracts. A parliamentary commission concluded that since 2018 the Government had doubled the use of private consultants for multiple State Administration jobs, to represent 894 million euros in 2021.
For McKinsey, this is the second record in just over half a year, after one that already occurred last May for aggravated tax fraud laundering proceedings.
