The Ministry of the Interior Pole informed this Thursday of the burst in the command of the Warsaw Police of an artifact disguised as a gift for its manager and said that it is investigating the possible relationship of the event with a recent visit to Ukraine of that police officer.
According to the ministry, the explosion occurred at 7:50 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday and was produced by “one of the gifts received by the commander-in-chief (from the Polish Police, Jarosław Szymczyk) during his working visit to Ukraine on December 11-12, where he met with the leaders of the Police of Ukraine and the Emergency Situations Service”.
the explosive caused minor injuries to the police chief and a civilian employee who was in the next room, caused the office roof collapse and caused damage to other units located on the upper floors. The note from the Polish authorities ensures that “the Polish side asked the Ukrainian side to present adequate explanations” and that “the regional prosecutor’s office” in Warsaw is in charge of the investigations.
So far, the Polish ministry has not clarified why the fire brigade was not informed of the explosion and why it was not reported until the day after it occurred. Warsaw police spokesman Mariusz Ciarka, reported that the explosion occurred in the room next to the commander’s office, with restricted access, and where “classified objects of which no information can be provided” were located. According to a Warsaw radio station, “the roof of the office is smashed” and a bomb squad is on the scene.
