Despite Europe’s fears, Russia has resumed this Thursday the supply of gas to Europe through North Stream 1according to the flow data supplied by the infrastructure operator.

The amount of gas that has begun to arrive is approximately 30-40% of full capacity of driving, according to German media.

The president of the German federal network agency (Bundesnetzagentur), Klaus Müller, has added that the percentage of gas forecast for today through Nord Stream 1 is about 530 GWh/d, which is equivalent to approximately 30% of the capacity of the gas pipeline.

The head of the German agency added that the expected amount of supply “is binding for the next 2 hours, changes during the day would be very unusual.”

Nord Stream supply data indicates that gas has started flowing as of 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT).

The gas pipeline interrupted its gas supply to Germany on July 10 to carry out annual maintenance work, although the German authorities have expressed concern in recent days about whether the technical stoppage would be prolonged.

In the last hours, that fear had risen when the Russian gas company warned Gazprom that the turbine from Siemens —the company that repaired the piece— for the Portovaya compression station had not arrived and that this fact had “direct consequences on the operability of Nord Stream 1”.

“Gazprom has not yet received any official documents from Siemens to supply a gas turbine engine for Portovaya CS under the Canadian and EU sanctions,” the Russian company said, stressing that it again asked Siemens to provide such documents.

At the beginning of July, the Canadian government announced that it would deliver the turbine to Germany, necessary to transport gas through Nord Stream 1 from Russia and whose return had been temporarily suspended as a result of the sanctions imposed on Moscow for the war in Ukraine.

Canadian authorities specified that the part, reconditioned at a Siemens plant in Montreal, would be delivered to German workers and not directly to Russia, as originally planned.
