On Monday, April 25, the second stage of the introduction of / HEVC in Poland will begin. From that day on, the new standard will be able to receive TV viewers in the province. Kuyavian-Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, Greater Poland, in almost the entire Pomeranian region and in the north-western part of Mazovia. RBC issued an alert reminding you to change. DVB-T2 in other regions of Poland. What does the new TV broadcasting standard offer?
– DVB-T2 / HEVC allows for the broadcast of more TV channels, and also guarantees better picture and sound quality – explains Michał Kanownik, president. He adds that this standard, provided that they are connected to the Internet, also allows recipients to access the so-called hybrid television. Thanks to this, it will be possible, among others stop an ongoing program on demand, take part in voting with the use of a remote control or view additional information about the actors appearing in a given film or series.

Most of the new ones support the new standard, but for older receivers, either replacement or purchase will be required. How to check if the TV will allow DVB-T2 reception? This can be done in two ways:

- Using the Checking TV channel, available on channel 28.

The transition to the new DVB-T2 standard in Poland is planned for the second quarter of 2022. According to the schedule established by the Office of Electronic Communications, the introduction of the new standard has been divided into four stages:
- Stage 1 – from March 28, 2022: the Sudetes and Lower Silesia region, Lubuskie voivodship;
- Stage 2 – from April 25, 2022: the Pomeranian Belt from Szczecin to the Tri-City, a large part of Greater Poland, Kujawy, the western part of Mazovia;
- Stage 3 – from May 23, 2022: the southern part of Greater Poland, the Łódź region, Kielce region, Subcarpathia, Lesser Poland, Upper Silesia, Opole region;
- Stage 4 – from June 27, 2022: Mazovia, Eastern Poland (from the Suwałki region, through Podlasie, to the Lublin region and the Zamość region).
