Apple’s Greg Joswiak says Samsung was stealing the company’s technology
Apple’s senior vice president of global marketing Greg Joswiak accused Samsung of stealing technology. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Joswiak was one of the guests in the WSJ documentary, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the first iPhone. When asked by journalist Joanna Stern about how Apple treated Samsung during the creation of its phone, Joswiak noted that the Korean corporation “annoyed everyone.” “They were annoying because, as you know, they were stealing our technology,” said a top company manager.
An Apple representative clarified that Samsung borrowed the technology of an American corporation and created a bad copy of the iPhone. “Just put around [нашего iPhone] big screen,” Joswiak said, noting that Apple was not very happy when they saw the new smartphones of the Korean competitor.
Samsung was one of the first companies to launch smartphones with a large screen. So, in 2013, the company introduced the five-inch Galaxy S4. Apple released the first phone with a larger display, the iPhone 6 Plus, in 2014. Apple and Samsung have been suing repeatedly over patent rights.
In mid-March, Samsung accused Apple of copying a number of Korean corporation’s innovations. The company noticed that Tim Cook’s corporation released the iPhone in green – earlier, the Galaxy S22 Ultra received a similar color scheme.
