The billionaire has temporarily halted the acquisition of the social platform until confirming that the number of fake users is less than 5%, as indicated by a report published earlier this month.

Elon Musk has announced that he has temporarily paralyzed the purchase of Twitter after a report has calculated the number of fake users that has the social network.
The company had estimated earlier this month that fake or spam accounts on the social network represented less than 5% of monetizable daily active users during the first quarter. However, the billionaire has “paused” the purchase of the platform until he has more details to support that calculation.
Musk had said that one of his priorities after buying the entirety of Twitter for $44 billion would be to remove “spam bots” from the platform, as he believes there are too many of them and that is one of its biggest failings.
