“The self-repair program does not appear to offer significant savings in the most common type of iPhone service — a cracked screen,” experts said. It turned out that replacing the iPhone 13 display will cost $ 280 in the SC, while for self-replacement you need to buy a kit worth $ 270. Apple also recommends a $108 heat gun, a $216 press, and a $256 display remover for front panel repairs.

Replacing an obsolete battery in an iPhone will cost $70 in the SC, while a self-replacement kit will cost $47. However, for proper maintenance, it is necessary to buy or rent expensive devices. The journalists specified that the cost of renting special equipment would cost $49 per week.

Earlier, Apple launched the Self Service Repair program for self-repair of the brand’s equipment. US customers can now purchase service parts for iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and 3rd generation iPhone SE.
