Wccftech: AMD processors will increase the autonomy of laptops up to 30 hours
AMD has introduced a series of Ryzen Pro 6000 processors. This is reported by Wccftech, citing company materials.
Ryzen Pro 6000 is an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) – a hybrid solution that combines the central and graphic processors. The device is intended for use in corporate and professional computers. The new chips are based on the Zen3+ architecture and also use RDNA2 graphics.
AMD divided the APU line into two segments – the H and U series. The devices of the first series differ in power consumption of 35-45 watts, the second – 12-28 watts. According to experts, U-series processors can provide an increased, record-breaking runtime. So, the company predicted the appearance of laptops that can work autonomously for more than 30 hours.
The materials say that the graphics Ryzen Pro 6000 features a 10 percent increase in performance at 15 watts of power compared to previous models. In the case of consumption of 28 watts of energy, the power increases by 30 percent.
AMD said that the first manufacturers of computers based on the new APUs will be HP and Lenovo. The cost and timing of the release of laptops from brands are not disclosed.
At the end of April, insiders said that Hewlett-Packard was working on the creation of the first laptop with a folding screen. The model will receive a 17-inch OLED display with a resolution of 4K, which will have a diagonal of 11 inches when folded.
