Apple computer shipments disrupted

Bloomberg: Apple laptop production stopped due to supplier issues

Apple does not have time to put the required number of computers on the market due to problems with Chinese suppliers. It is reported by Bloomberg.

Agency journalists noticed that the delivery time for Apple computers has increased. According to experts, this may be due to interruptions in the production of Mac models. So, when ordering a 14-inch MacBook Pro, Apple promises to deliver the device to the US only at the end of May. The most powerful MacBook Pro configuration can only ship in mid-June. Basic MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini are available at the Apple Online Store without restrictions.

According to experts, another outbreak of coronavirus in China affected the supply disruption, in connection with which local authorities limited the work of equipment manufacturers. Bloomberg authors noted that more than 30 Chinese companies involved in the production of components for Apple have suspended their work. In particular, the main manufacturer of MacBook Quanta Computer has temporarily stopped the production of computers due to quarantine.

The material says that Apple may comment on supply issues at the end of April. On April 28, the company is due to announce financial results for the second quarter.

In mid-April, Bloomberg sources said that the production of Apple iPhone smartphones in China had stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak. In addition to coronavirus restrictions, the production of equipment in the region is hindered by a disruption in the supply of components.
