Anonymous attacked companies operating in Russia. The websites of the Russian troops did not work

A hacker group known as Anonymous, the day after Russia’s attack on Ukraine, openly declared cyber warfare against the Russian regime. For almost a month now, Russian institutions, propaganda media and companies supporting Russia have been attacked by hackers.

French brand websites are not working

Anonymous, however, did not stop there and announced that it would take similar measures also against private enterprises that are still operating in the aggressor’s country. Now the first few companies have found that the hackers weren’t joking.

On Wednesday night, Anonymous launched attacks on Leroy Merlin, Auchan and Decathlon servers. They all belong to the French holding Association Familiale Mulliez, which – despite the appeals of consumers – does not want to withdraw its activities from Putin’s country. As reported by hackers on Twitter, the websites of the Russian branches of these networks were completely blocked.

It is impossible not only to enter the websites, but also to make purchases in online stores. The Russian sites of Leroy Merlin and Auchan are still not operational after the attack. Only the Decathlon website is operational at the moment.

On Wednesday, the group also boasted about a successful attack on the Swiss company Nestle, which also runs its business in Russia. The hackers published a 10 GB file on the network containing the data of the company’s business partners. The package is to come from the Nestle database.

“We give you 48 hours.” They did not listen

Anonymous hackers have for several days been appealing to the last Western companies still operating in Russia not to support (with their taxes) the regime that attacked Ukraine. On social media, they reminded that companies that did not withdraw from Russia could become targets of cyber attacks.

On Sunday, the group also published a graphic with the logos of such companies and an appeal to withdraw from Russia and not support Putin’s country. Hackers gave the brands 48 hours to think.

We call on all companies that are still operating in Russia, paying taxes to the criminal budget of the Kremlin’s regime: Pull out of Russia! We give you 48 hours to reflect and withdraw from Russia, otherwise you will become our target!

Anonymous announced.

In their actions, hackers have a strong support from Internet users who are calling for a boycott of companies operating in Russia and flooding their social media with hundreds of comments. Due to the huge wave of criticism, Nestle turned off the possibility of adding comments on its social media in Poland on Wednesday.
