The new iPhone SE tested for durability

Allstate Experts Appreciate the High Durability of the New iPhone SE

The insurance company Allstate assessed the durability of the new iPhone SE smartphone. This is reported by MacRumors.

The organization’s specialists tested the strength of the device presented on March 8 by a series of controlled falls from a height. The experts concluded that the third generation SE proved to be more durable than its predecessor. Also, the device is considered to be of the same quality as the iPhone 13.

According to experts, the new SE withstood a fall from a height of 1.8 meters, while the device landed on a hard surface with a screen – the device received minor abrasions. It is noted that the device has a reinforced front panel, although not as durable as the iPhone 13, which received Ceramic Shield glass. When dropped again from the same height, the iPhone SE landed on the frame and received minor abrasions.

In addition, employees of the insurance agency checked the moisture protection of the device case. The phone was immersed in water to a depth of about one meter for half an hour. The device successfully endured the test, but within an hour after removal, the sound coming from the speakers was somewhat muffled. As a conclusion, experts recommended that SE owners use protective glasses and cases to avoid severe damage.

The flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra failed the strength test, which was conducted by a blogger under the nickname PBKreviews at the end of February. So, after the gadget fell from a height of one and a half meters, the protective glass on one of the smartphone’s camera lenses cracked.
