MacRumors: iPhone 14 smartphones will get old processors
Not all of Apple’s new flagship smartphones will feature next-generation processors. It is reported by MacRumors.
Media journalists refer to the message of authoritative insider Ming-Chi Kuo in Twitter, which revealed the detailed characteristics of the new generation of Apple devices. According to the analyst, in 2022 the company will introduce four smartphones – iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. At the same time, only the most expensive models will receive the new Apple A16 processor.
Ming-Chi Ko said that the base devices – the iPhone 14 and 14 Max – will come out with the current generation chip. Thus, the devices will be equipped with the Apple A15 Bionic processor, which is used in the third-generation iPhone 13 and iPhone SE series phones.
According to Ko, all four models will receive six gigabytes of RAM: LPDDR 4X format – Phone 14 and 14 Max, LPDDR 5 – iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
In November, The Information sources reported that Apple’s flagship smartphones scheduled for 2022 could get an old processor. This is due to the fact that the supplier of chips for Apple – the Taiwanese company TSMC – will not have time to manufacture new generation processors.
