Apple talks about a way to hide the “monobrow” on the MacBook Pro

Apple has released a guide on how to hide the monobrow from the screens of new laptops. This is reported by The Verge.

The company has taken note of complaints from early MacBook Pro customers with an on-screen cutout. Users reported on social media that third-party apps misbehave with the new laptop screen design element. In particular, some program buttons may be hidden by a notch.

Apple said in a new guide that important elements of applications may indeed not display correctly on the screens of new MacBook Pros. The company suggested a way to temporarily remove the “monobrow”. To do this, you need to go to the application settings by clicking on the shortcut with the right mouse button and selecting the “Properties” button. Then you need to check the box next to the Scale to fit below built-in-camera option.

In this case, the size of the program window will be slightly compressed, but adapted to the display of the device without the “monobrow”. However, in this case, the top and sides of the screen will be filled with black, which may make the laptop appear to have wide bezels. Apple noted that the problem will go away as soon as the developers update their programs.

Earlier, Apple designers told about the feature of macOS on devices with “monobrow”. So, the cursor will not bump into the screen cutout, but, on the contrary, will hide under it.
