Realme 9 Pro + surprises with a very good quality / price ratio. And not only [TEST]

If I had to define in one word design Realme 9 Pro +, I would say it is correct. The shimmering backs of the device look quite attractive, but apart from that, the smartphone does not stand out from the competition.

The housing of the 9 Pro + is made of plastic, which unfortunately collects fingerprints quite strongly. The screen is characterized by slim frames, but the bottom one – for reasons that I do not understand – is much wider than the others.

The smartphone fits well in the hand and is comfortable to use, however, when we put it on a flat surface, the camera lenses sticking out of the casing may be a pain for us.

Placed under the screen the fingerprint reader works quickly and efficiently. The smartphone can also be unlocked using the face scanner placed in the front camera and this solution also works without any problems.

Realme 9 Pro + has been equipped with a display AMOLED, which in a smartphone from this price range should be considered a big plus. The screen has 6.43 inches and works at a resolution of 2400 x 2080. As befits an organic matrix, we find here deep black, almost infinite contrast, high maximum brightness and good color reproduction.

If we want the Realme smartphone to run smoother, then we can increase the refresh rate from the default 60 to 90 Hz. It is a pity that the manufacturer did not choose a 120 Hz refresh screen, which appeared in the Realme GT Master Edition model, for example.

The tested smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 system. It is an efficient unit, which, however, is significantly inferior to the most powerful Snapdragon systems. We also have 6 or 8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB of data memory.

In the AnTuTu Benchmark 9 test, the smartphone scored less than 500,000. points, which in terms of performance places it somewhere between the Huawei P30 Pro and the Galaxy A52s. So it’s good, but not great.

The device is running under the control of the system Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 overlay, which, like its previous generations, is characterized by minimalism, transparency and smooth operation.

The realme smartphone does not lack all the necessary communication modules. So we find 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and NFC here. A nice addition are stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm audio output.

Realme 9 Pro + it has a camera with three lenses, the main thing that attracts attention is the main unit. It is a wide-angle eyelet equipped with a matrix Sony IMX766 with a resolution of 50 MP, with optical image stabilization. In addition, we find here an 8MP ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP macro camera.

Main camera photos taken under daylight conditions they look very good – they are rich in details and natural at the same time. The real highlight here, however, is the night mode. I will risk saying that this is the best Night Mode in smartphones for less than 2,000. zloty.

Both the sharpness of the frames and the excellent color reproduction draw attention here. If you are looking for a companion for night photography trips, Realme 9 Pro + will be perfect for this role.

It is a pity that the other lenses do not keep the level of the main unit. While the ultra eye is doing quite decently, the macro lens seems to be almost completely useless.

Realme 9 Pro Plus – BATTERY

The tested smartphone was equipped with a battery about 4500 mAh capacity, which will allow us to work for over two days on a single charge.

In the box with Realme 9 Pro + we find a 60W charger, thanks to which we can charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in just 40 minutes. To be completely happy, I only lacked wireless charging, which should already be standard on a smartphone from this price range.

SUMMARY

9 Pro + is not the most beautiful and fastest smartphone on the market, but in many respects it is not inferior to much more expensive competition flagships. For PLN 1799, we get an efficient smartphone with Android 12, an AMOLED screen and an excellent main camera with an even better night mode.
