GlobalData analysts say iPhone SE will help popularize 5G in the world
The new iPhone SE will help spread fifth-generation communications around the world. It is reported by Computer Weekly.
Journalists refer to the report of analysts from the GlobalData agency, who evaluated the new Apple smartphone and described the fate of the device. The relatively inexpensive third-generation iPhone SE will allow more users to own a 5G-enabled phone, experts say. The device will stimulate the development of fifth generation networks in both developed and developing countries.

“iPhone users lack affordable 5G phones compared to the diverse selection available to Android users,” the report says. Analysts believe that an affordable and potentially popular device will motivate mobile operators to expand the coverage of fifth generation networks.
“GlobalData expects 5G mobile services to generate $644.6 billion by 2026, equivalent to 64 percent of total mobile service revenue worldwide,” the authors summarize. According to experts, the iPhone SE, introduced on March 8, is slightly more expensive than competitors’ Android smartphones, but Apple has a large fan base and guarantees a long period of support for updates.
In December, JPMorgan analysts predicted that the new iPhone SE would attract more than a billion Android smartphone users. The report also says that about 300 million owners of old iPhones will be able to purchase an inexpensive device.
