Apple to bury its cheapest watch

Apple is about to “bury” its cheapest smart watch, the Apple Watch 3, according to Bloomberg.

According to journalist and analyst Mark Gurman, in 2022 the company will stop producing and selling the cheapest smartwatches in its line. Apple Watch 3 will be recognized as rare, the model will be gradually withdrawn from circulation. Most likely, this will happen in the fall – before or after the release of the new generation Apple Watch.

These watches are the most affordable in the range of Apple. At the moment, the device is estimated in the company’s online store at 17,990 rubles. The version with an enlarged case costs 20,490 rubles. The company is still releasing watchOS updates for the device.

Gurman noted that in 2022, the American IT giant may introduce three models of smartwatches. These will be the flagship Apple Watch 8, the second generation of the budget Apple Watch SE and a special version of the device for extreme sports with a reinforced case.

The Apple Watch 3 was released in 2017. The smart watch has a 1.65-inch OLED display, Apple S3 processor, built-in speaker, workout software, support for contactless payment.

In mid-January, Apple declared the 2012 MacBook Pro obsolete. It was the company’s last laptop to include a CD and DVD drive.
