Apple is preparing a hardware offensive. Up to 7 new Macs this year

One of the main goals of Apple for the coming months is to completely abandon Intel processors in favor of proprietary M chips. The process began in 2020, but some devices from the Cupertino company still use chips from the (former?) Partner.

However, that will change soon. Mark Gurman, According to a Bloomberg reporter, this year the Cupertino company can present as many as seven Mac computers with M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max and M2 processors. The list of devices, in which you will not find Intel chips, is as follows:

• Mac mini with M1 Pro chip;
• Mac mini with M2 chip;
• MacBook Pro 13 “with M2 chip (successor to the 2020 model);
• MacBook Air with M2 chip;
• iMac 24 “with M2 chip;
• iMac Pro with M1 Pro / M1 Max chip;
• A smaller Mac Pro with a chip equivalent to four M1 Max processors.

What do we know about the upcoming M2 chip? Bloomberg’s findings show that although he will be faster than its predecessor, however, Apple will keep the same 8-core architecture. In turn, the number of cores in the graphics chip will be increased from 8 to 10.

The systems used in Mac Pro computers however, they will appear in two versions. The first of them is to be the equivalent of two M1 Max chips, while the second – as many as four. This means 20 CPU cores and 64 graphics cores in the first case, and 40 CPU cores and 128 GPU cores.

Apple Special Event on March 8. What will we see?

Mark Gurman predicts that at least two M1 / ​​M2 computers will be unveiled on March 8 at a special Apple conference. Assuming that the Cupertino company will first deal with devices that have not been refreshed for a long time, you can expect that in a few weeks we will see a 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 system and the Maka Mini M1. At the same conference, Apple is also to present the third generation iPhone SE and the new iPad Air.
